| Learning Center tutoring is now available online!
VClass is open for recorded tutoring files and online tutoring for Physics students.
To improve the tutoring sessions and help students organize their time efficiently; tutors will be using the Tablet PC’s while helping students with their study material in Physics Learning Center.
Tablet PCs allow tutors to write on the screen of the PC in the same manner as they do on paper/whiteboard. Tutors will use an application to record their explanation; including their voice, from beginning to end. They will then upload these video files online onto VNet where all students can access them. This way students will have the ability to view the solutions to different problems and view them as much as they want. They will also be able to connect to the TA’s online and ask their questions in a chat session, where the TA’s will solve the problem on the screen and the students will be able to see.

To view the recorded files:
Go to Vnet (www.vnet.uh.edu) and login:
user id: guest

Go to VClass --> Physics --> PHYS 0001: Physics Learning Center; click on the “Documents” tab |
Online Tutoring (VMeeting)
You can also ask your questions to the TA’s online. This way:
- You can get your questions answered immediately.
- You don’t have to come all the way to school just to clear one doubt.
- You can have online tutoring with other students in a chat room and learn from other students’ questions.
VMeeting is a feature similar to a chat application. It includes the regular chat feature, voice chat, live web cam images, as well as a whiteboard where tutors can write on using Tablet PCs in the Physics lab.
How VMeeting works:
Tutors will login to VMeeting for the time that they are present in the lab. Students can use this feature from anywhere with internet connection, and ask their questions through this chat feature. |

Open Marratech and write http://vmeeting.uh.edu in the address bar |

Click on “Vmeet” chat room (you do not have to enter any user name and password in this screen, just click "Vmeet") |

Click on the pen icon on the bottom left corner of the screen to view the white board. |

If you have a microphone you can press the ctrl key and click on the microphone icon at the same time; this will enable your microphone and let others hear you throughout the session. You may also click on the microphone icon while you are talking and stop clicking when you are finished. |

If you do not have a microphone you can communicate with the tutors by typing your questions onto the chat bar on the bottom right corner of the screen |
