3D Printing
Oftentimes, even the best ideas cannot be expressed solely on paper. The Virtual Technology Center (VTC) recognizes this limitation and offers staff and faculty the opportunity to breathe life into their ideas by giving them a third dimension to convey their scientific research to the public.

3D modeling offers faculty members a new way to reach students as it gives them a new way to visualize their lessons. Now material can be pulled from a static Powerpoint presentation slide and converted into a moving animation or even printed out using our Dimension SST printer or Spectrum Z510 Color Printer. If it can be visualized, the VTC can reimagine your ideas in three dimensions.

Large Format Printing
The Virtual Technology Center (VTC) began offering large format printing services in 2003 and since this time, it has been a complete success.

Using an Epson Inket 9600 with Ultrachrome Ink, the VTC has printed posters and banners for a variety of NSM related conferences and events. Students simply need approval from an NSM faculty (using the VTC Print Authorization Form, bring their file to 202 Science & Research I Building on CD or USB flash disk, and we will have the poster placed in the queue, ready for printing. To help expedite this process even further, VPrint will soon be available through the VNet system, allowing a completely automated approval and notification system between faculty and students. Please check back here to learn when it will be available.
