The Virtual Technology Center (VTC) has recently begun deploying VStations, with its first located in first floor hallway of Science and Research I. The VStation concept has arisen out of a need for a standalone kiosk system for staff, faculty, and students in areas where computers may not be readily available.

Each VStation is equipped with an internet-ready computer that can be used to access UH-related resources such as email, WebCT, VNet and Enrollment Services. Students might also use the VStation to print, scan, and submit homework to their professors or even receive live video technical support from the NSM IT front desk. VStations will serve as an important communication tool for the administration. The large plasma display will utilized to relay important news and messages to the users and passerbys.

The VStation located in the first floor of SR1 serves as a prototype for many more to come. Once news of the station spreads, NSM hopes to install these kiosks in each of their buildings to facilitate a new means of communication among students, staff, and faculty.
